It’s official: £40,000 raised for Claire House
Alongside our friends at Trustland Construction Ltd, we’ve now raised an amazing £40,000 for our local children’s hospice Claire House.
Over the past 2 years we’ve held pub quizzes, raffles and auctions. We’ve donated stock to their charity shops, given £1 towards the cause with every portion of fish and chips sold and we’ve put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into individual and team fundraising challenges such as Tough Mudder and the Chester half marathon. For a full list of how we hit our target please see below.
We were welcomed into the hospice for a lovely spot of tea and biscuits yesterday to celebrate our achievement, where we were told that the money we have helped to raise, will fund a full 5 working days at the hospice. As fantastic as this is, they’re sadly having to turn away more and more due to the increasing demand for their services. Since we started our mission to raise £40,000, the hospice have now opened a new site in Liverpool near Alder Hey that is up and running for day therapies and mum’s and tots groups. The long term plan is to eventually re-create the current site services here as well to ensure that they can also provide end of life care and ongoing long term support. We therefore urge anyone who is looking for a new charity to support to consider Claire House.
It may have taken us 2 years to hit this milestone, but we’ve finally achieved it with the help of our generous customers and we couldn’t be prouder! To find out more about Claire House and all the fantastic work they do, please check out their website here.
